Acres- Log/Stone Farm House - Cirica 1783 SOLD
On October 11, 1738, this farm was granted to Jacob Matzinger by warrant. On May
4, 1743, he conveyed the ground to Jacob Hefflefinger who then gave it to his
son Henry Hefflefinger on August 8, 1772. Henry is the original owner of the log
house, which he built in 1783. Around 1840, the stone addition was constructed.
The log/stone colonial farmhouse nestled in a quiet valley overlooking the Lehigh
River retains much of its original charm. House features a large living room with
exposed logs and ceiling beams, original chair rail and wainscoating, dining room
with functional walk-in stone fireplace with original mantle, doors, and forged
iron cooking cranes, ultra modern kitchen with knotty pine cabinets, breakfast
bar, corian counter tops, and dishwasher, three bedrooms, full bath, full attic,
basement with large stone fireplace, and an enclosed side porch. The two modern
barns are both built on monolithic concrete pads. The 36x75 barn would be ideal
for horses, and the 40x130 free-span barn could be used for an indoor riding arena,
exercise area, or for livestock. Water sources include a drilled well, three abundant
springs, and large, scenic, spring-fed pond which is stocked with fish. Most of
the farm consists of pastures, some with high tensile fencing. This farm has beautiful
panoramic views and a great private location just 20 minutes northwest of Allentown
in North Whitehall Township, Parkland School District, Lehigh County. It’s ideal
for horses, cattle, sheep or gracious country living.
